In "Mermaid" BENJAMIN VON WONG created a scene on the floor (using 10,000 donated USED plastic bottles) then photographed it from overhead. Oceanic Global (a non-profit that engages new audiences in ocean conservation) notes, "His passion for the mission to spread awareness and inspire action speaks through his work, embodying what it means to engage in activism through art." His previous projects have focused on electronic waste and the plastic microfibers released in washing machines. As he says, “I am an artist focused on amplifying positive impact. My mission is to help make positive impact unforgettable.”
