"Share," shaped to resemble the Corona virus, is not a mask made from whimsy and wit. It is made from anxiety and fear. An artist known for sculpture and jewelry, MARIKO KUMON intricately wove wire coated with silicone (a rubber-like material). As she explains, "I put on a mask to protect myself... But  I start to doubt that the mask can actually work...That the virus multiplies everywhere...And then it seems as if the virus reaches my mind." This and many other pieces are a part of the online Covid Art Museum… an uneven collection but with over 500 posts definitely worth a quick scroll. As one of the founders, explains “A few days into the quarantine in Spain, we realized people were sharing artwork they created during isolation... we didn’t want these artworks to be forgotten."
