BANKSY
Watch this space for NEW Activist Art
BANKSY's 2005 "Snorting Copper" shows an officer looking up while snorting a line of cocaine, which creeps onto the ground in front of the work. With this shocking graphic, it is thought that Banksy "was responding to reports that corrupt officers are known to routinely turn a blind eye to major drug dealers in exchange for a piece of the profits." The artist, who is famous for his anonymity, often illustrates a critical view of the social system.
